DESCRIPTION:In conjunction with the MelBush-O orienteering event at Darebin Parklands\, on Sunday 16th March 2025\, I plan to offer a 2m classic ARDF course.\nLocation: https://eventor.orienteering.asn.au/Events/Show/21784\nhttps://maps.app.goo.gl/ohbV3eKqW3vDVxU2A \nStarts for ARDF from 10:30am.\nYou can do both O and ARDF events if you wish\, doing the O event first. If you do elect to do this\, please start your (short) O course at 10:00am\, so as to leave time for the ARDF after.\nTime limit for ARDF 120mins\, but for late starters note ARDF TXs will be collected from 1:30pm. \nRegistrations for the ARDF will independent from MelBush-O\, as will the SI download. Start & Finish will be shared. Do not pay at Melbush-O registration if you’re only doing ARDF. You cannot pre-enter the ARDF course. \nCost $12 for ARDF. \nI’d appreciate if you could let me know as soon as you can if you plan to attend\, and if you require a 2m sniffer. \nTX pickup volunteers also appreciated.

DESCRIPTION:Nortons Park Rust Remover Free Sunday Practice \nNow with 2M Sprint ARDF practice!!!\n\n\n\nStart: Nortons Park car park\, Nortons Lane\, Wantirna South \nThis is a free practice event\, using MapRun and virtual controls. However\, we will be taking donations for the Junior Squads (cash or card)\, at Registration. \n2Meter ARDF sprint course will be available with MapRun scoring. \nThere is also regular orienteering courses\,\nChoose any of three Line courses – Hard 5 km\, Medium 3 km\, Easy 2.5 km. Use MapRun6 on your smartphone or bluetooth watch\, to locate controls. \nStart any time between 12 noon and 1.30pm. Courses close at 2.30pm. \nCovid rules: Groups of up to 30. You must check in with the Service Victoria QR code\, at Registration\, and show your vaccination status. Practice hand hygiene and physical distancing. Wear a face covering if you can’t keep your distance. \nPlease stay home if you are unwell\, waiting for test results\, been in contact with a positive case or at a Tier 1 exposure site\, or otherwise required to isolate.

SUMMARY:Yarren Dheran - 2M Radio Sprint - Event
DESCRIPTION:5 Transmitters are located within the parkland. \n\n\nTransmitters are at least 100m from each other\, and from the start/finish. \n\n\nTransmitters are on from 2pm until 4pm each day from Saturday 4th of July until Sunday 12th of July. \n\n\nThere is no flag or registering device at the transmitters. You will need to use the MapRunF app. To find the event in the app go to Shwerkolt Cottage and press Events Near Me. The event is called “ARDF – Yarren Dheran – July 2020” \n\n\nOnce you start the event you shouldn’t look at your phone\, but please make sure your volume is as loud as it goes so you know when you have registered as locating a transmitter. \n\n\nYour time will start when you pass through the start/finish location and MapRunF registers that you were there\, your time will end when pass though the start/finish location for a second time. \n\n\nThe Map attached to this blog post is far superior to others that I have seen of this area\, but if you wish to use others then feel free. \n\n\nPlease park in the carpark at Shwerkolt Cottage and walk East to get to the Shwerkolt Cottage Orchard Shed. The start/finish is the water trough NE of the building. \n\n\n\n \nImage\nUpload an image file\, pick one from your media library\, or add one with a URL.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSome warnings\n\n\n\nDo not enter the Freeway.\nThere are a number of cliffs in the area. There is no need to attempt to climb up or down any cliff.\nDo not cross any fences. They are often close to the top of the previously mentioned cliffs.\nTo be fair to all competitors\, please only cross the creek using one of the marked bridges.\nThere are hidden hazards in many areas including\, logs\, rocks\, old fences and unmarked low cliffs.\nThere is a busy bike path that runs through the middle of the map\, please use caution when entering/exiting or swinging your beam on this path.\nSome of the ground is very muddy\, spare shoes are recommended for the drive home.\n\n\n\nIf you venture off a track please be careful. \n\n\nWhilst you are in the area\n\n\nI recommend the donuts at The Pastry Board in Ringwood North\, or if you want a sugar overload Pizzeria Express has Donut Snack Packs (DSPs). \n\n\nResults\n\n\nResults will be available in the MapRunF app but will also be posted on this page.
